Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.
The recommended adult dosage is 1 tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily, taken with a small amount of water regardless of meals. Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg applies when prescribed for blood pressure reduction. For patients with renal impairment classified as mild to moderate (creatinine clearance greater than 30 mL/min), dose adjustment is not necessary. For liver impaired patients
This medication can cause serious damage to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately once pregnancy is confirmed.
