This medication is used for patients who need to take both amlodipine and atorvastatin together. Amlodipine helps treat myocardial ischemia due to hypertension and stable or variant angina, and it reduces the risk of hospitalization for angina in patients with coronary artery disease as well as risks associated with vascular interventions. Atorvastatin is effective in lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease, particularly reducing the risks of myocardial infarction, stroke, angina, and interventions on blood vessels. Additionally, it helps manage cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, improving blood lipid profiles while also used in some cases of familial hyperlipidemia. Therefore, this medication is used to protect cardiovascular health and reduce the risks of vascular-related diseases.
