Adult dose

Adults should take 1 capsule once a day.

This medication contains iron, and an accidental overdose in children under 6 years old can lead to severe poisoning and risk of death; hence, it should be stored out of reach of children. Individuals who are allergic to any components in this medication, those with disorders of iron metabolism, anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency, infants under 12 months old, and those allergic to soybean oil, soy, or peanuts should not take this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable to avoid concomitant use with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids containing calcium carbonate or magnesium hydroxide, and allopurinol, among others. Teas that contain tannins, such as green tea or black tea, and dairy products should be avoided before and after taking this medication, as they can interfere with iron absorption. Patients with peptic ulcers, chronic gastrointestinal diseases, kidney diseases, heart and circulatory diseases, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and those on certain medications should consult a healthcare professional before starting this medication. If symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rash or itching, allergic reactions, swelling, weight loss, or fever occur during the course of treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Due to the folic acid component in this medication, patients with pernicious anemia may see improvement in blood status but may not experience relief of neurological symptoms, so caution is advised, and there may be tolerance if taken in high doses for a prolonged period. Adhering to the prescribed dosage and regimen is crucial. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after taking the medication for more than a month, consulting a healthcare professional is necessary. It may be noted that taking this medication with vitamin C can increase iron absorption, and patients with lipid metabolism disorders should periodically check plasma lipid levels and adjust their dosage accordingly. When storing this medication, it should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight in a tightly sealed container, and it is advisable not to transfer it to other containers.
