This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage is 80 mg of valsartan / 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide once daily, taken with a small amount of water, regardless of meals. Valsartan 160 mg / hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg is prescribed if necessary for blood pressure reduction. The antihypertensive effect reaches its maximum between 2 to 4 weeks after administration.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy.
