This medication is used to effectively manage blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who find it difficult to control their blood pressure with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily with a small amount of water, regardless of meals. For Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, this applies when prescribed for blood pressure lowering. For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, dosage adjustment is not necessary. For patients with mild to moderate liver impairment without cholestasis, take Valsartan 80 mg once daily.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Patients who are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of this medication or have certain liver or kidney disorders should not take this medication. Patients with severely reduced kidney function or certain electrolyte abnormalities should also avoid this medication, and should consult with their doctor if they have such conditions.
