This medication is used for essential hypertension (primary hypertension) that is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose is 1 tablet containing 80 mg of Valsartan/12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide once daily, which can be taken regardless of meals, with a small amount of water. The 160 mg of Valsartan/12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide is applicable if prescribed for blood pressure reduction. The maximum effect of blood pressure lowering occurs 2 to 4 weeks after starting the medication. For patients with kidney impairment, mild to moderate impairment (creatinine clearance 30 mL/min or more)

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components or similar drugs. This medication should not be administered to patients with severe liver or kidney impairment, and regular checks are needed in cases of mild kidney impairment.
