(Hypertension, angina) Improvement of myocardial ischemia and reduction of the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with cardiovascular disease.
This medication is used for patients who require a combination of the two ingredients amlodipine and atorvastatin. Amlodipine treats hypertension and myocardial ischemia due to stable and variant angina, and it reduces the risk of hospitalization due to angina and procedural risks in patients with coronary artery disease. Atorvastatin reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, particularly lowering the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, surgical procedures, and angina. Additionally, it improves cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, helping regulate blood lipid levels. This medication helps to comprehensively improve cardiovascular health.
As Amlodipine (Esamolodipine), take 5 (2.5) mg orally once daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 10 (5) mg daily based on patient response. Adjust dosage appropriately based on symptoms. Atorvastatin's recommended initial dose is 10 mg orally once daily; for patients who require more significant LDL cholesterol reduction, it may be started at 20 mg or 40 mg once daily. This medication should not be used in specific patients. For example, patients allergic to this drug or similar ingredients, patients with severe liver dysfunction, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients with severe muscle disorders should not be treated with this medication. Moreover, patients with severely impaired kidney function or elderly patients, alcoholics, and those with a history of liver disease should use this medication with caution. Patients at risk of muscle-related disorders should check their muscle condition through blood tests prior to treatment. This medication is generally well tolerated; however, side effects may include facial flushing due to vasodilation, fatigue, edema, headache, dizziness, dyspepsia, among others. Rarely, liver dysfunction, muscle pain, skin rashes, and allergic reactions may occur. If symptoms are severe or persistent, consultation with a physician is recommended. Liver function tests should be conducted regularly, and if liver dysfunction is suspected, administration should be discontinued. Additionally, if symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness manifest, medical personnel should be informed immediately. Women of childbearing potential should take appropriate contraceptive measures during the use of this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed, administration should be stopped immediately. It is advisable for breastfeeding women not to take this medication. This medication may interact with various other drugs; therefore, if other medications are being taken, it is important to inform medical personnel. Caution is particularly necessary when used with drugs that affect enzymes that metabolize medications in the liver or drugs that can influence muscle function. In the event of overdose, hypotension, cardiac arrhythmia, or even shock may occur, requiring immediate emergency care. The effects of this medication last a long time, so the condition should be closely observed even after discontinuation. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been sufficiently confirmed in children or the elderly, so it should be used cautiously in these patients. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
