This medication is used in patients who require combination therapy with the two drugs, amlodipine and atorvastatin. Amlodipine helps treat hypertension and myocardial ischemia caused by stable and variant angina, and reduces the risk of hospitalization due to angina in patients with coronary artery disease as well as the risk associated with coronary revascularization. Atorvastatin is effective in reducing cardiovascular disease risk, particularly in patients with coronary artery disease or diabetes, decreasing the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke. Additionally, it is used to treat various dyslipidemias including primary hypercholesterolemia, improving cholesterol and triglyceride levels. The combination of these two medications helps overall improvement of cardiovascular health and reduction of related disease risk.
