This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy. In other words, it is utilized as an additional treatment to stabilize blood pressure in cases where basic antihypertensive agents are ineffective.

How to take

Adult dose

1 tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily, taking with a small amount of water regardless of meals. For patients prescribed Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg for blood pressure lowering, this applies. No dosage adjustment is needed for patients with renal impairment (creatinine clearance above 30 mL/min). For liver disorders, the dosage should not exceed 80 mg of Valsartan daily in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment without cholestasis.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy.
