Precautions

This medication is an external preparation containing indomethacin, used to relieve inflammation and pain. This medication should not be used by individuals with allergies to indomethacin or similar drugs, or who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions. Patients who have experienced asthma attacks caused by aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics should avoid this medication as severe symptoms may occur. Additionally, this medication should not be administered to patients who experienced bronchospasm, allergic rhinitis, or angioedema due to aspirin or other anti-inflammatory analgesics. It is safest not to use this medication in children under 14 years of age. Patients with bronchial asthma should exercise caution, as the risk of asthma attacks may increase when using this medication. While using this medication, skin reactions such as itching, redness, rash, contact dermatitis, and eczema may occur, and rarely side effects such as warmth, swelling, flushing, anaphylactic reactions, photosensitivity, burning sensations, irritation, dryness, tingling, gastrointestinal discomfort, headaches, and dizziness may also occur. If side effects worsen, discontinue use immediately and consult healthcare professionals. Patients with psoriasis should be cautious, as symptoms may worsen with medication use. There is also a possibility of severe allergic reactions or serious hypersensitivity reactions such as hypotension or aseptic meningitis, so pay attention to symptoms. This medication is a symptom-relieving treatment for inflammation and pain and does not treat the underlying cause, so other treatment methods should also be considered for symptom relief. When used on inflamed areas accompanied by skin infections, it should be used alongside antibacterial or antifungal agents to prevent worsening the infection, and the condition should be monitored closely. When used for chronic conditions, other treatment methods should be combined, and the occurrence of side effects should be closely checked. Caution is needed if exceeding the recommended dosage or using it on large areas for extended periods, as systemic side effects may occur. Care should be taken when using it on surgical wound areas, as a hypersensitivity shock may occur. In case of overdose, there may be interactions with anticoagulants, hypoglycemic agents, and thyroid hormones, which can affect blood coagulation, requiring caution. During pregnancy, particularly in the last three months, the use of this medication can pose risks such as delayed delivery, bleeding, neonatal cardiopulmonary issues, and impaired kidney function, so it should not be used. During the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, animal studies have not revealed fetal toxicity, but sufficient human studies are lacking, so it should be used cautiously. This medication can also be transmitted through breast milk, so it is safer for breastfeeding women to avoid using it. Safety for children has not been established, so it should be avoided in this population. Do not use this medication on broken skin, bleeding skin diseases, eczema, infected areas, burns, or around the eyes or mucous membranes. Caution is necessary if applied to damaged skin, as temporary irritation or tingling sensations may appear. This medication is intended for external use only on the skin, and should not be used in conjunction with occlusive bandage techniques.
