Precautions

This medication contains donepezil hydrochloride hydrate as the main ingredient and is used to alleviate the symptoms of Alzheimer's type dementia. This medication should not be used in certain patients, including those who are allergic to donepezil hydrochloride or any components of this medication, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and patients with genetic metabolic disorders such as lactose intolerance. Patients with cardiac disease, a history of peptic ulcer, asthma or obstructive pulmonary disease, and extrapyramidal disorders such as Parkinson's disease should use this medication cautiously. This medication may slow heart rate or cause arrhythmias, so patients with heart disease should take special caution. There is also a risk of exacerbation of gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers, so those with gastrointestinal issues should consult a physician. Additionally, this medication may cause bronchial contraction, so patients with asthma or respiratory diseases should be aware of the risk of exacerbation of symptoms. During the use of this medication, severe side effects such as fainting, heart abnormalities, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver function abnormalities, seizure, and movement disorders may occur; if any abnormal symptoms appear, promptly consult a physician. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, insomnia, and fatigue. These symptoms are generally temporary, but if they are severe or persist, inform medical personnel. The risk of side effects may increase when this medication is taken with other drugs that affect heart rate, so if you are taking other medications, you must inform your doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should refrain from using this medication; if absolutely necessary, they should decide after consulting with a specialist. This medication is not recommended for children due to insufficient safety data. This medication may affect driving or machine operation abilities, so caution is advised if experiencing fatigue or dizziness after taking it. In case of overdose, severe vomiting, bradycardia, respiratory distress, and seizures may occur, necessitating immediate emergency treatment. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
