Serious side effects such as liver dysfunction or jaundice may occur rarely; if symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and visit a hospital. Other side effects may include skin rash or hives, blood abnormalities, gastrointestinal symptoms, increased heart rate, dizziness, and headaches. If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve after prolonged use, it is advised to stop taking the medication. The efficacy may decrease when taken with anticholinergics, so caution should be taken regarding the time interval between doses. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should be cautious when using this medication, and it is safest to avoid use during breastfeeding or to stop breastfeeding if taken. Safety in children has not been established, and experience in use is limited. Elderly patients should be closely monitored for renal or liver dysfunction and should reduce the dosage if adverse reactions occur. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided to prevent quality degradation and risk of accidents.
