Cozartan Plus F Tablets

Adult dose

The usual dose of this medication is 50 mg of losartan potassium/12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide, taken once daily as 1 tablet. Dosage exceeding 100 mg of losartan potassium/25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide daily is not preferred. Patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with single agent therapy of losartan or hydrochlorothiazide should start with 50 mg of losartan potassium/12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide administered once daily as 1 tablet.

Child dose

There is no experience in the use of this combined preparation of losartan-hydrochlorothiazide in children and adolescents, so it should not be administered to them.

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This medication should not be administered to patients with certain allergic reactions or significantly decreased renal function, or severe hepatic impairment. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with very low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalances, hyperuricemia, or gout, as well as in elderly patients. This medication can affect serum potassium levels, so potassium supplements or potassium-containing medications should not be taken arbitrarily, and electrolyte levels should be regularly checked through blood tests. This medication contains hydrochlorothiazide, which can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, so sun exposure should be limited, and if any skin abnormalities occur, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so caution is needed when driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication can affect kidney function, so patients with impaired kidney function require regular testing, and if any adverse symptoms appear during medication use, immediate consultation with medical personnel is necessary. Safety has not been established for children and adolescents, so it is not administered to this age group. When taking this medication, the exact dosage and administration instructions provided by the doctor should be followed, and it should not be stopped or the dosage changed arbitrarily.

Serious side effects

Hives, angioedema (swelling of the larynx/cornea that may lead to airway obstruction, swelling of the face/lips/pharynx/tongue), shortness of breath, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reaction, severe rash accompanied by high fever, blisters, peeling skin, oral/eye mucosal pain, severe skin adverse reactions, severe swelling or urinary abnormalities, significantly reduced urine output, severe generalized edema and increased blood pressure.
