Improvement of blood pressure control when monotherapy is insufficient
This medication is used for hypertension that is insufficiently controlled by monotherapy.
Losartan Potassium 50 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, take once daily, 1 tablet. The maximum dose is Losartan Potassium 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg, take once daily, 1 tablet. If blood pressure is not controlled, the dose may be increased after 3 weeks of administration. For patients with renal impairment, the usual dose is given if the creatinine clearance is 30 mL/min or higher; patients with more severe renal impairment are not recommended to take this medication.
Experience in the use of this medication in children and adolescents (under 18 years) is lacking; therefore, it is not administered.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus during pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Do not use this medication if you are allergic to it or its ingredients, have very poor kidney function, have certain electrolyte imbalances, or are pregnant or may become pregnant. Patients with very low blood pressure or poor kidney or liver function, as well as those with hyperuricemia or gout, should use this medication cautiously and require regular monitoring. Dizziness, drowsiness, and low blood pressure may occur during the use of this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. This medication lowers blood pressure, but side effects such as abdominal pain, edema, dizziness, cough, and skin rash may occur in some patients. The hydrochlorothiazide component can cause electrolyte imbalance, so regular blood tests are necessary, and extra caution should be taken if symptoms of dehydration, such as vomiting or diarrhea, occur. This medication may interact with other drugs, so consult your doctor, especially if you are taking potassium supplements, certain diuretics, antihypertensive medications, or anti-inflammatory pain relievers. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and nursing mothers should decide whether to take it in consultation with their doctor. Safety in children and adolescents has not been established, so this age group should not use this medication. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more frequently, so regular monitoring and assessment are necessary. In case of overdose, low blood pressure or irregular heartbeats may occur, so seek medical attention immediately if any unusual symptoms arise. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored sealed in its original container.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema (swelling of lips and eyelids and facial rash), angioedema (swelling of the larynx/epiglottis causing airway obstruction, swelling of face/lips/pharynx/tongue), severe allergic reactions, severe rash with fever, blisters, exfoliative skin reactions, pain in oral/eye mucous membranes, severe skin adverse reactions, difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory distress accompanied by cough and fever, breathing difficulties.

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a special container that prevents light exposure. Additionally, it should be stored at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness safely.
