This medication is used for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, also known as male pattern hair loss, in adult males.

How to take

Adult dose

Generally, finasteride is administered orally at a dosage of 1 mg once daily, regardless of meals. Typically, treatment effects may be observed after taking the medication for at least 3 months, and continuous use is recommended to maintain the treatment effects. The treatment duration and efficacy should be evaluated continuously. If treatment is discontinued, the effects will diminish within 12 months.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by children or women. In particular, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle broken pieces of this drug, as it may pose a risk to a male fetus. This medication may cause mental health issues such as depression or mood changes, so consult a healthcare professional immediately if such symptoms occur. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant must not take this medication, as it may cause abnormalities in the genitalia of a male fetus. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or those taking other 5α-reductase inhibitors, as well as patients with genetic issues like lactose intolerance, should not take this medication.
