Blood pressure control and treatment effects for essential hypertension
This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. It is particularly helpful in cases where blood pressure control is difficult using monotherapy alone. It is also used as initial treatment for patients with moderate to severe hypertension (stage 2) who require combination therapy to reach the targeted blood pressure. Therefore, this medication contributes to improved hypertension management and prevention of cardiovascular complications.
This medication is taken once a day regardless of meals. 1. Patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy - For patients whose blood pressure is not properly controlled with Irbesartan 150 mg or Hydrochlorothiazide alone, administer 1 tablet of Irbesartan 150 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily. - For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Irbesartan 300 mg or Irbesartan 150 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide
This medication can pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, treatment should be immediately discontinued. It should not be used in pregnant or nursing women, patients with a history of certain allergies, or patients with severe kidney or liver disorders. Caution is required for patients with low blood pressure, worsening kidney function, heart diseases, narrow-angle glaucoma, and a history of skin cancer. Side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and abnormal urination, and blood tests may show changes in kidney function or electrolyte levels. Care should be taken as dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery. Blood pressure and blood tests should be monitored regularly to avoid excessively low blood pressure or electrolyte imbalances while taking this medication. Diabetic patients may need to adjust their medication dosage after consulting with their physician, as blood sugar control may be affected. Drug interactions may occur when taken with other antihypertensive agents or medications, so be sure to inform your healthcare provider of all medications you are currently taking. Overdose may lead to hypotension, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalances, requiring immediate medical assistance. Its safety has not been established in children and adolescents, thus it is not recommended for this age group. This medication may be sensitive to sunlight, so it is important to protect the skin while taking it. Store in a sealed container out of the reach of children and keep in the original container.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, rash and other hypersensitivity reactions, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, anaphylactic shock, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, mucosal pain in mouth/eyes, jaundice, hepatitis, jaundice (cholestatic jaundice), sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, markedly reduced urination, significant swelling of the body, and increased blood pressure
