Precautions

This medication is provided in a glass ampoule, so care should be taken to avoid glass fragments when opening the container. Extra caution is needed when used on children or the elderly. This medication should not be used in patients with poor kidney function, unconscious patients, patients with elevated magnesium levels, patients with cardiac conduction disorders, or patients with myasthenia gravis. It should be administered with caution to children with intestinal parasitic infections or patients with heart disease. This medication may cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or dry mouth, and rarely, cardiac arrhythmias or vasodilation. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as warmth, thirst, hypotension, central nervous system depression, bradycardia, and respiratory paralysis may occur, requiring immediate treatment. Caution should be exercised when this medication is used in conjunction with other sedatives or narcotic drugs, as it may enhance central nervous system depressant effects. Additionally, co-administration with iron preparations or certain antibiotics may reduce drug absorption, so consultation with a professional is advised. This medication may be used for pregnant women, especially those with eclampsia, for the safety of both fetus and mother, but it may affect the fetus with muscle relaxation or hypotension, necessitating close monitoring of fetal condition. It should be avoided during labor or postpartum due to the risk of respiratory depression in newborns. Safety during breastfeeding has not been established, so administration is not recommended unless in special cases. Elderly patients may have diminished body functions, so it is advised to slow the administration rate and adjust the dosage accordingly. Serious side effects may occur in cases of overdose, so if symptoms present, administration should be stopped immediately and antidotes should be used for treatment. This medication should be infused slowly at a concentration of less than 10%. It is also important not to mix with certain other medications as it may produce precipitates. To prevent infections, the injection site and instruments must be properly disinfected, used immediately after opening, and any leftover medication should not be reused.
