Improvement in achieving blood pressure control and treatment goals in essential hypertension
This medicine is used for the treatment of patients with essential hypertension. It is particularly effective in cases where blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy and in patients with moderate to severe hypertension who require combination therapy from the start to reach treatment goals. Therefore, it is used as an appropriate treatment option for hypertensive patients who have difficulty controlling their blood pressure.
This medicine is administered once daily without regard to meals. 1. For patients whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy - Administer 1 tablet of Irbesartan 150 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily - If blood pressure remains uncontrolled, administer 1 tablet of Irbesartan 300 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily - If blood pressure remains uncontrolled, administer 1 tablet of Irbesartan 300 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg once daily. The dosage should not exceed Irbesartan 300 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg. 2. For initial therapy in patients with moderate or severe hypertension (stage 2), individualization is required considering baseline blood pressure, treatment goals, and expected improvement in treatment goal achievement compared to monotherapy. Typically, therapy is initiated with 1 tablet of Irbesartan 150 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily, and if blood pressure control is necessary, the dosage may be increased to a maximum of Irbesartan 300 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg after 1 to 2 weeks. The initiation of therapy in patients with intravascular volume depletion is not recommended.
