Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used for the relief of acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
It is recommended to start with a dose of 2 tablets, and the subsequent doses should be spaced at least 6 hours apart, not exceeding 8 tablets in a day. The effective minimum dosage should be administered for the shortest possible duration. Elderly patients can be administered the usual adult dosage; however, those aged over 75 should have a minimum interval of at least 6 hours between doses. Pediatric patients aged 12 and older are prescribed the same dosage as adults.
This medication can cause liver damage, so individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. If any serious rashes, blisters, or allergic reactions occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult medical personnel. One of the ingredients in this medication, tramadol, can cause seizures; therefore, patients with a history of seizures or those taking medications that increase seizure risk should take caution. Tramadol may rarely cause life-threatening allergic reactions; if difficulty breathing or severe allergic symptoms occur, seek emergency help immediately. Acute asthma patients taking this medication may experience severely suppressed breathing, so it should be administered only in a facility equipped with medical equipment. Taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may cause significant drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma; thus, this combination should be avoided or taken under a doctor's supervision. Patients with head injuries or elevated intracranial pressure should be cautious as using this medication may increase risks of respiratory depression and elevated brain pressure. This medication may result in mental and physical dependence; prolonged use should be discussed with a doctor regarding the potential for dependence. Since it contains acetaminophen, care should be taken not to exceed a total daily dosage of 4,000 mg, and patients with poor liver function should consult a doctor before use. Some individuals may metabolize this medication quickly, increasing the risk of respiratory depression; in such cases, consultation with a doctor for dose adjustment or alternative medications may be necessary. Children under 12 years or adolescents under 18 who have undergone tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy should not use this medication, and it is advisable to avoid use in teenagers aged 12 to 18. Patients with symptoms of sleep apnea or hypoxemia should closely monitor whether symptoms worsen during treatment and reduce or discontinue the dosage if necessary. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should closely observe for signs of hyponatremia during treatment. This medication may interact with certain drugs, so it is essential to inform the doctor or pharmacist about other medications being taken. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with healthcare professionals before using this medication, especially since it can be transferred through breast milk, posing risks to the baby. Caution is advised when undertaking tasks requiring concentration, such as driving or operating machinery, as drowsiness or dizziness may occur after taking this medication. In case of overdose, severe respiratory depression, seizures, or coma may occur; adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and seek immediate medical attention if an overdose is suspected. Store this medication in a secure place out of reach of children, and take precautions to prevent misuse and accidental ingestion.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, asthma, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output, severe generalized swelling and increased blood pressure.
