This medication is used to reduce the risk of various cardiovascular diseases. It lowers the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in adults with multiple risk factors for coronary heart disease or patients with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, it reduces the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, vascular procedures, congestive heart failure hospitalization, and angina in patients with clinical evidence of coronary heart disease. It is also effective in treating hyperlipidemia, improving cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with various types of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia where diet is difficult. Through these actions, it helps improve cardiovascular health and prevent disease progression. Therefore, this medication is used for the reduction of cardiovascular disease risk and the treatment of hyperlipidemia.

How to take

Adult dose

Atorvastatin can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals. Precautions

This medication may cause muscle-related symptoms; if there is severe muscle pain or weakness, or a significant increase in creatine kinase levels, use should be discontinued immediately and consult a physician. This medication should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, or by nursing women, and childbearing women should use appropriate contraceptive methods while taking this medication.
