In cases where the efficacy of ticlopidine hydrochloride monotherapy is insufficient, the combination of ticlopidine hydrochloride and ginkgo biloba dry extract can improve the following conditions. Firstly, it alleviates ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and cold sensation associated with chronic arterial occlusive disease. Secondly, it aids in the treatment of thrombus and embolism in ischemic cerebrovascular disorders such as transient ischemic attack (TIA) and cerebral infarction. Thirdly, it is effective in the prevention and treatment of thrombus and embolism in coronary artery disease related to angina and myocardial infarction, as well as alleviating ischemic symptoms. Finally, it is used to prevent the occurrence of subacute thrombosis following coronary artery stent insertion. This combination therapy promotes overall vascular health through improved blood circulation and thrombus prevention.

Precautions

This drug may cause severe side effects that reduce blood platelet count, so careful monitoring should be performed especially within 2 months after starting treatment. During the first 3 months of administration, regular blood tests and liver function tests should be conducted every two weeks, and if any abnormal symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. If hematological problems or liver dysfunction symptoms are suspected, administration should be discontinued immediately, and appropriate tests should be conducted. This drug should not be used in patients with a high risk of bleeding, severe liver impairment, or leukopenia. Patients who are menstruating or taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, etc., or those with liver function issues or the elderly should use this medication cautiously. This drug may cause various side effects such as blood system abnormalities, hypersensitivity, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney problems, skin rashes, etc., and medical personnel should be notified immediately if symptoms arise. Patients with a tendency to bleed should be closely monitored for bleeding risks before and after administration, and the medication should be discontinued for a certain period prior to surgery. Since this drug is metabolized in the liver, caution is necessary for patients with liver dysfunction, and careful administration is also required for patients with kidney impairment. Caution is needed when co-administering this drug with other medications, as the risk of bleeding may increase, particularly when taken with anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should preferably avoid this medication unless specifically instructed, and consultation with a healthcare provider is recommended if necessary. The safety for children has not been established, so caution is necessary with its use. Elderly patients may have decreased metabolic function and a higher risk of side effects, so they should start treatment with a low dose while being observed for their condition. During the use of this drug, regular blood tests and liver function tests should be performed, and any symptoms such as fever, sore throat, or bleeding should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal disturbances may become severe; in this case, the patient should visit a medical institution immediately for appropriate treatment. This drug should be stored in a tightly sealed container away from direct sunlight and in a cool place with low humidity.
