This medication helps alleviate symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn due to gastroesophageal reflux. It is also effective for dyspepsia occurring due to the reflux of stomach contents, especially after meals or during pregnancy, and in cases accompanied by reflux esophagitis. It is used to ease these symptoms to make the patient's daily life more comfortable.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children over 12 years old: Take 10 – 20 mL at a time, 4 times a day (after meals and before bedtime).

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by anyone who is allergic to it or any of its ingredients. Patients who need to limit sodium intake, such as those with congestive heart failure or renal dysfunction, must consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication since it contains a high level of sodium. Additionally, patients with hypercalcemia (high levels of calcium in the blood), nephrocalcinosis (calcium deposits in the kidneys), and those who have recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones should consult a healthcare professional before use due to its high calcium content. Children under 12 years of age should ideally not take this medication without a doctor's guidance. If you experience skin itching, shortness of breath, or severe allergic reactions while taking this medication, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. Moreover, excessive use of this medication can lead to alkalosis (increased blood alkalinity), hypercalcemia, hyperacidity, milk-alkali syndrome, constipation, etc., so the recommended dosage must be strictly followed. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days of use, it is essential to seek medical attention from a healthcare professional. In case of overdose, immediate medical attention should be sought, as some patients may experience abdominal bloating. This medication contains calcium carbonate, which may interact with other medications when taken together, so it is advisable to maintain an interval of at least 2 hours from other medications. Pregnant women can take this medication as no adverse effects have been reported for the mother, fetus, or newborn. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and it should be kept in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality, as transferring it to another container can pose such risks. Once opened, it should be used within 6 months, and it is advisable not to use it after this period. Lastly, this medication contains saccharin, which has been shown to be carcinogenic in animal studies; therefore, prolonged excessive use may be harmful to health.
