This medication is used to effectively manage high blood pressure. It is especially suitable for patients with essential hypertension and can also help prevent kidney disease in patients with Type 2 diabetes as part of a hypertension treatment regimen. Therefore, both blood pressure control and kidney function protection can be expected.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication can be taken without regard to meals. Essential hypertension in adults: Administer 150 mg orally once daily as Irbesartan, and if the effect is insufficient, it may be increased up to 300 mg. In special cases (early treatment, patients undergoing hemodialysis, or in elderly individuals over 75 years), 75 mg may be considered.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus during pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant and nursing mothers should not take this medication. Patients with severe liver impairment or allergies to this medication should also avoid use. This drug contains lactose and is not suitable for patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. Diabetic patients with poor kidney function should not take this medication in combination with certain drugs. Elderly patients or patients with compromised liver function, heart disease, or kidney disease should use this medication with caution. This medication has blood pressure-lowering effects, which may cause symptoms of hypotension or dizziness, so caution is advised.
