Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals with allergies to any ingredients in this product. It is advisable not to use in patients with thyroid dysfunction, especially those with thyroid nodules or inflammation. Patients with poor kidney function, newborns, and infants under 6 months should also not be administered this medication. Patients with herpes-like dermatitis or those undergoing radioactive iodine therapy should avoid using this product. Elderly patients with severe conditions or a history of thyroid disease, and those with kidney function issues should use this medication with caution. Allergic reactions may rarely occur while using this medication, and if symptoms such as shortness of breath, skin rash, or itching occur, discontinue use immediately. Pain, irritation, or rash on the skin or mucous membranes may occur, so it is recommended to stop use if these symptoms appear. Using large amounts may lead to electrolyte imbalance or metabolic disorders, and there is a risk of worsening kidney function. Long-term use may alter thyroid hormone levels, and some patients may experience a temporary increase in serum iodine protein levels. Repeated use on extensive wounds or burn areas may result in side effects such as metallic taste, increased salivation, burning sensation in the throat and mouth, eye irritation, skin reactions, digestive disorders, and respiratory difficulties. Excessive use of this medication may result in iodine toxicity, so caution is required. If used shortly before delivery, the newborn's eyes should be rinsed quickly, and the infant should be bathed to remove any residue of this medication from the skin. If symptoms do not improve, surgical intervention should be considered, and this medication should be used with a gap of 1-2 weeks from thyroid diagnostic tests. Due to its iodine content, caution is required with large or long-term use as it may affect thyroid function. In case of infection, clean the wound with saline before using this medication. Patients undergoing lithium treatment should avoid regular use of this medication, and it may reduce the effects when used with certain antiseptics or wound treatments. It should not be used with hydrogen peroxide. Women who are pregnant or nursing should avoid prolonged or extensive use, as it may affect the thyroid function of the fetus or newborn. If this medication is absorbed through the skin, it may impact the results of thyroid function tests. In case of overdose, symptoms such as upper abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and coma may occur, so immediate communication with healthcare personnel and appropriate treatment are necessary. Care should be taken to prevent this medication from entering the eyes; if it does, rinse immediately with clean water. Do not mix with other medications, and ensure the area is cleaned before use. If the medication comes into contact with clothing, it should be washed immediately, and since soap residue may reduce its sterilizing effect, rinse thoroughly. During electrosurgery, ensure this medication does not get trapped between the skin and electrode pads. This medication should be stored away from direct sunlight, and caution is needed as metal containers may corrode.
