This medication is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive reflux esophagitis. It also helps with long-term maintenance therapy to prevent relapse in esophagitis patients and to relieve symptoms in gastroesophageal reflux disease patients without esophagitis. It is used as part of a combination therapy with antibiotics for eradicating Helicobacter pylori in patients with duodenal ulcers or peptic ulcers. It treats symptoms of pain or discomfort in the upper gastrointestinal tract related to the administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for a short period and is effective in the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers in patients continuing to use these analgesics. Additionally, it is used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for the prevention and maintenance of rebleeding in gastric or duodenal ulcers. In summary, this medication is widely used for the treatment of various gastrointestinal diseases and symptom relief.
