Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as shock may occur with the use of this medication, so if symptoms such as nausea, cold limbs, or difficulty breathing occur, use should be ceased immediately and medical assistance should be sought. If symptoms of hypersensitivity such as weakening of blood vessels, loss of consciousness, swelling of the face or neck, or difficulty breathing occur, the use of this medication should be stopped. Temporary burning or irritation in the eyes may occur, and sometimes eye pain, redness, itching, blurry vision, tearing, or dryness may develop. If these symptoms persist, discontinue use and consult a physician. This medication can rarely cause hearing impairment or irritation symptoms, so careful observation is needed if abnormal symptoms arise. Particularly in the elderly or when used with steroids, there is a risk of inflammation or rupture of tendons such as those in the shoulder, hands, and Achilles tendon, so if pain or discomfort is felt, use should be stopped immediately. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, this medication should only be used for the minimum necessary period after confirming the sensitivity of the infectious bacteria, and long-term use should be avoided as it may lead to excessive proliferation of fungi or non-sensitive bacteria. This medication is not definitively effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), so if MRSA infection is suspected, switch to another appropriate antibiotic promptly. Pregnant women or those who might become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding mothers should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop using this medication. The safety and efficacy in infants under 1 year of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended. This medication must only be used for ophthalmic purposes, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the tip of the container with the eye. To prevent contamination, it is advisable not to share the use of this medication with others. When storing, keep it out of the reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store it in a cool place. Additionally, to maintain quality, do not transfer it to another container.
