Precautions

This drug may cause allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Additionally, serious inflammation of the pancreas known as acute pancreatitis may occur, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting arise, promptly inform a healthcare provider. Do not use this medication in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, and avoid use if allergic to the drug or its components. Mild adverse reactions such as cold symptoms, headache, and nasopharyngitis may occur while taking this medication, and occasionally hypoglycemic symptoms may arise, so caution is advised. The risk of hypoglycemia may be increased when used in conjunction with other glucose-lowering agents such as insulin or sulfonylureas, necessitating dosage adjustments. If severe joint pain or symptoms such as blistering on the skin occur, inform a doctor immediately to discontinue the medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication, and safety in children under 18 years has not been established.
