Topical treatment of acne lesions such as comedones and papules
This medication is used for the topical treatment of acne symptoms such as comedones, papules, and pustules that appear on the face in adolescents aged 12 and older and adults.
After thoroughly washing and drying the affected area, apply a thin layer to the acne area once a day before bedtime, avoiding the eyes, lips, mucous membranes, and around the nose. If skin irritation appears, reduce the frequency of application (e.g., once every two days) or discontinue treatment. Once irritation subsides, the frequency of application can be increased or treatment can be resumed. Clinical improvement typically occurs after 4 to 8 weeks of treatment, with additional improvement seen after 3 months.
This medication is not recommended for use by patients with sunburn until they are fully healed. Do not use this medication if allergic to it or any of its components. It is advisable for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant to avoid using this medication. Avoid using on open or damaged skin, sunburned skin, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, or areas of severe acne. Those who are frequently exposed to sunlight or are sensitive to sunlight should use caution when using this medication, as skin irritation may occur. Initial use may cause symptoms such as skin dryness, irritation, burning sensations, and redness, but these usually improve by reducing or stopping use. During treatment, avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet light, and if exposure is unavoidable, apply sunscreen and protect the skin with a hat. Increasing the amount of this medication will not speed up the onset of effectiveness, and excessive use may worsen skin irritation. It is advisable not to use this medication in conjunction with other skin exfoliants or strong irritants. Do not use this medication during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, discontinue use immediately. Nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously and avoid applying it to the breast area. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established for children under 12 years of age, so its use in this population is not recommended. Care should be taken to avoid contact with mucous membranes such as the mouth, eyes, and nose; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Keep out of reach of children, and do not transfer to another container. This medication is for external use only and must not be ingested. If this medication is accidentally swallowed, seek appropriate treatment at a hospital.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
Store this medication in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. Maintain the storage temperature below 25 degrees Celsius, and avoid freezing as it may decrease the effectiveness of the medication.
