How to take

Precautions

This medication is made with Donepezil Hydrochloride and is used in the treatment of symptoms of Alzheimer's type dementia. Firstly, this medicine should not be used by individuals allergic to Donepezil Hydrochloride or any of its components, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and women who are breastfeeding. Furthermore, since it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance or galactose intolerance. Additionally, diverse adverse reactions such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, insomnia, hallucinations, anxiety, muscle pain, blood pressure changes, etc., have been reported, requiring caution while taking this medication. Patients with heart disease need to be especially vigilant about the possibility of bradycardia and arrhythmias, which may necessitate an electrocardiogram. This medication may affect liver and kidney function, so regular examinations are recommended. Care should be taken while driving or operating machinery as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. Moreover, this medication can interact with various other drugs; therefore, consult a healthcare provider if you are taking other medications. Particularly, caution is needed when combined with drugs that affect the CYP3A4 and CYP2D6 enzymes, cardiac medications, and anti-inflammatory analgesics. It is recommended that pregnant or nursing women avoid using this medication; if necessary, consultation with a specialist is advised. Safety in children has not been established, so it is not used in pediatric patients. In the case of overdose, serious symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, decreased heart rate, and respiratory depression may appear. Immediate emergency care is required, and atropine may be used as an antidote. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and not transferred to another container for safety.
