Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Blood sugar control problems in patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This medication is used in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapies to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be administered as monotherapy and can be combined with sulfonylureas, metformin, or insulin if there is no improvement in blood sugar levels from other oral antidiabetic agents. For patients with type 2 diabetes, medication therapy, nutritional counseling, weight loss, and regular exercise are crucial. These efforts greatly aid in both initial treatment and sustaining the effects of the medication. Therefore, this medication is used to improve blood sugar control.
