Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Severe allergic reactions such as nausea, limb coldness, and difficulty breathing may occur rarely; if these symptoms arise, use should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment sought. Various hypersensitivity symptoms such as angioedema, rash, itching, and difficulty breathing may also occur, requiring discontinuation of the drug if these symptoms appear. Transient stinging or irritation and discomfort may occur in the eyes, and rarely keratitis or severe skin reactions may develop, necessitating immediate cessation if any abnormal symptoms arise. Caution is advised as auditory disturbances or irritation symptoms may develop during the use of this medication. Long-term use of this medication may lead to the proliferation of resistant bacteria such as fungi; therefore, it should be used only for the necessary minimum duration, and other treatments should be initiated promptly if other infections develop. Particularly in elderly patients or when used with steroids, the risk of tendon inflammation or rupture is increased; therefore, if pain or inflammation occurs, the use of the medication should be stopped immediately. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits are deemed to outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding mothers should discontinue either nursing or the use of this medication. It is advisable not to use this medication in infants under one year of age, as safety has not been established. This medication is an eye-drop formulation for ocular use only; it should not be used for other purposes, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the bottle nozzle with the eye while applying. Additionally, to prevent contamination, avoiding sharing is recommended. When storing, keep the medication out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool place. It is important not to transfer to another container to maintain quality.
