Treatment of eczema, dermatitis group (progressive lichenoid dermatitis, chronic simple lichen, etc.) and urticaria group (including papular urticaria)
This medication is used for eczema and dermatitis, particularly for chronic progressive lichenoid dermatitis, chronic simple lichen, and inflammatory skin diseases such as photocontact dermatitis. It also helps in treating various skin diseases including urticaria, pustulosis occurring on the hands and soles of the feet, and psoriasis. This drug is effective in alleviating skin inflammation and improving symptoms, aiding in skin health recovery. Therefore, it is used to improve the symptoms of various skin-related diseases.
Apply to the affected area twice a day. Treatment should not exceed 2 consecutive weeks, and for localized lesions of moderate to severe psoriasis, if satisfactory improvement is not achieved within the first 2 weeks, it may be used for an additional 2 weeks. The amount used should not exceed 50g (50mL or 1.75oz) per week. This drug should not be used under occlusive therapy unless directed by a physician.
This drug should not be used in patients with certain skin infections. For example, patients with skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals should be cautious as symptoms may worsen. Patients who are hypersensitive to this drug or its ingredients, or who have experienced allergic reactions in the past, should also avoid administration. It should not be used in patients with eczematous otitis externa who have tympanic membrane perforation due to the possibility of delayed healing. In addition, patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite should not use this drug as skin regeneration may be suppressed, leading to delayed healing. Scalp infections, perioral dermatitis, common acne, specific skin diseases, and patients with itching around the anus or genitals should avoid use as well. It is considered safe for infants under 24 months not to use this drug. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, children, the elderly, and patients with liver dysfunction or diabetes should use this drug with increased caution. Caution is also required for those allergic to the propylene glycol ingredient included in this drug. When using this drug, skin infections may occur, and if infection symptoms appear, usage should be immediately stopped and appropriate treatment sought. Long-term use may lead to side effects such as thinning or alteration of the skin, so it is advisable to gradually reduce the dosage or switch to another medicine. When used extensively or under occlusive dressings for a long time, systemic hormone function may be suppressed leading to side effects, so short-term use is preferred. Great care should be taken when using it around the eyes as side effects such as increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, or cataracts may occur, and it should be kept away from direct contact with the eyes. In principle, it should not be used for dermatitis accompanied by skin infections, and if unavoidable, appropriate antimicrobials or antifungals should be used simultaneously. When symptoms improve, it should be discontinued as soon as possible, and if symptoms worsen, usage should be stopped immediately. Especially when used on the face, neck, genital area, or overlapping skin areas, the risk of side effects is higher, so symptoms and indications should be carefully considered. Pregnant women should not use this drug extensively or for a long period; if necessary, it is safe to use only for the minimal area for the minimum duration. Nursing mothers should be cautious as this drug may be passed to the baby through breast milk and should not be applied directly to the nipple or breast area. Children absorb medication better than adults, increasing the risk of side effects, so long-term use should be avoided and the condition evaluated weekly during use. The elderly are also more susceptible to side effects, so careful observation is required when using large amounts, for long durations, or extensively. In case of overdose, there is a risk of adrenal function decline, so dosage should be gradually reduced or stopped under medical supervision. This drug should not be applied to the eyes and it is recommended not to use for purposes other than treatment. Occlusive dressings should be used following a doctor's instructions, and the treatment area must be kept clean. The treatment area should not exceed 20% of the total body surface area, and hands should be cleaned thoroughly after use. Keep out of reach of children, and store in the original container to prevent misuse or quality deterioration.
