This medication helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, it reduces the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, vascular surgery, and angina, thereby protecting the patient's cardiovascular health. Additionally, it lowers total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels while increasing HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, improving the profile of blood lipids. Furthermore, it aids in cholesterol level management in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia that is not controlled by diet. This medication also supports the reduction of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels in pediatric patients with cardiovascular risk factors. Therefore, it is used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and the treatment of hyperlipidemia.
