Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. The rhubarb component included in this medication can cause uterine contractions or pelvic organ congestion, increasing the risk of miscarriage or premature delivery. Additionally, it is advisable for nursing women to avoid taking this medication, as certain components in rhubarb can be transmitted through breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. While taking this medication, do not take other antidiarrheal medications as the combination of both can aggravate side effects. Individuals with hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, or edema should consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication, as it may have an impact on these conditions. Moreover, elderly patients or those taking other medications, individuals experiencing diarrhea or loose stools, those with weak stomachs, or those with a lack of appetite or nausea should also consult a professional, as this medication may worsen symptoms. Consultation is necessary before taking this medication for individuals in a state of post-illness weakness, excessive sweating, a history of cardiovascular disease, urinary disorders, hyperthyroidism, those who have previously experienced skin rashes or itching after using this medication, or diabetics. If symptoms such as swelling of the face or limbs, increased blood pressure, headaches, or muscle weakness and cramps occur while taking this medication, its use should be discontinued immediately and professional advice sought. If symptoms such as indigestion, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rashes, insomnia, excessive sweating, rapid heartbeat, overall weakness, urinary disorders, or liver function abnormalities occur, discontinue use and consult with medical staff. It is principle not to take this medication for an extended period; if prolonged use is unavoidable, it is essential to consult a professional. Stimulant laxatives can lead to tolerance and exacerbate constipation if used continuously for more than one week. Carefully adhere to the prescribed usage and dosage; the laxative effects of rhubarb can vary among individuals, so caution is required. When taking this medication with other herbal preparations, be aware of overlapping ingredients, especially when combined with preparations containing rhubarb. Caution should be exercised when taken with ephedra or ephedrine-containing preparations, MAO inhibitors, thyroid medications, catecholamines, and xanthine agents, as they may lead to symptoms like insomnia, excessive sweating, rapid pulse, palpitations, or mental agitation. If taken with potassium-containing preparations, licorice-containing preparations, or loop or thiazide diuretics, there may be an increased risk of hypokalemia or myopathy, so caution is imperative. This medication should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and must be sealed tightly after use. It is also important to keep it out of reach of children. Moreover, transferring medications from their original containers to other containers can lead to misuse or deterioration in quality, so they must be stored in their original containers.
