In cases where blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 1 tablet of Losartan Potassium 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg taken once daily. Administration can be done regardless of meals. Patients with kidney impairment should be monitored for creatinine levels.
Child dose
There is no experience with the use of this medication in children and adolescents, so Losartan-Hydrochlorothiazide combination should not be administered to them.

This medication is used for patients with hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The usual dose is 1 tablet of Losartan Potassium 50 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg taken once daily. Doses exceeding Losartan Potassium 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg per day are not recommended. In cases where blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 1 tablet of Losartan Potassium 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg taken once daily. Administration can be done regardless of meals. Patients with kidney impairment should be monitored for creatinine levels.

Child dose

There is no experience with the use of this medication in children and adolescents, so Losartan-Hydrochlorothiazide combination should not be administered to them.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be used in patients with certain diseases, such as anuria, severe liver impairment, severe kidney impairment, or genetic problems like galactose intolerance. Patients with a history of hypotension, decreased kidney function, liver dysfunction, hyperuricemia, diabetes, or cerebrovascular disorders should use this medication with caution and require regular monitoring. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. This medication can affect electrolyte levels in the blood; regular blood tests are needed to monitor electrolyte status, especially potassium levels. There may be drug interactions, so consult a physician when taking with potassium supplements, certain diuretics, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The hydrochlorothiazide component may cause photosensitivity reactions and increase the risk of skin cancer, so sun exposure should be limited and the skin condition should be monitored periodically. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should refrain from using this medication, and caution is required since adverse reactions may occur in infants during breastfeeding. This medication is not to be used in children or adolescents. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension or arrhythmia may occur, so it is essential to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, and consult healthcare professionals immediately if any unusual symptoms arise. Mild side effects

Abdominal pain, edema/swelling, palpitations, lower back pain, dizziness, cough, sinusitis, upper respiratory infection, weakness/fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, headache, bronchitis, pharyngitis, chest pain, facial swelling, fever, orthostatic hypotension, syncope, angina, arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation, sinus bradycardia, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation), cerebrovascular accident, hypotension, myocardial infarction, second-degree atrioventricular block, decreased appetite, constipation, toothache, dry mouth, dyspepsia, flatulence, gastritis, vomiting
