This medication is used to treat acute non-infectious conjunctivitis with severe edema and congestion, allergic keratitis, and non-infectious inflammation of the anterior segment, including anterior uveitis, episcleritis, and scleritis. It is also effective in alleviating inflammation that occurs after strabismus surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery. This medication helps reduce eye inflammation and improve symptoms.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 2–3 times a day. For adults, during the first 24–48 hours, 1 drop may be instilled every hour.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to certain components. Pregnant or nursing women should also refrain from using this medication. This medication should not be used in the presence of eye infections, especially in cases of keratitis or conjunctivitis. Patients with glaucoma and dry eye, especially those with Sjögren's syndrome, should avoid using this medication. It is recommended that those with corneal damage, corneal ulcers, or viral, bacterial, or fungal infections do not use this medication. This medication is not for use in infants under 2 years of age. Patients with circulation issues or serious conditions such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, and pheochromocytoma should use this medication with caution. Caution is also necessary for those with metabolic disorders such as hyperthyroidism or diabetes. Patients taking MAO inhibitors or medications that may increase blood pressure should exercise caution when using this medication together. Care should also be taken for individuals with a history of cataracts or herpes infections, patients with allergic rhinitis, and children and adolescents. Using this medication may cause temporary eye irritation, and prolonged use could increase intraocular pressure, necessitating regular intraocular pressure checks. Long-term use may lead to side effects such as eye congestion, allergic reactions, dermatitis, and punctate keratitis. Serious side effects such as cataracts, corneal damage, and fungal infections may also occur, so caution is required. In children, long-term use may result in systemic side effects such as headaches or insomnia. During treatment, avoid wearing soft contact lenses, and if administered for more than 2-3 days, intraocular pressure and systemic side effects, as well as the possibility of secondary infections, should be regularly monitored. If corneal ulcers persist, fungal infection should be suspected, and caution is needed as this medication may mask or exacerbate eye infections. Temporary blurriness may occur upon instillation, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided until vision clears. The risk of side effects may increase with the use of this medication alongside other medications that can raise blood pressure; therefore, strict adherence to physician's instructions is necessary when co-administering. Caution should be taken especially when used with CYP3A4 inhibitors due to an increased risk of systemic side effects. Safety has not been fully established for use in children and adolescents, and caution should be exercised as systemic side effects may occur. In case of overdose, symptoms such as severe pupillary dilation, cyanosis, high fever, cardiac issues, and central nervous system depression may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. Before use, the solution should be shaken well to ensure uniformity, and care should be taken to avoid contact between the dropper and the eye. To prevent contamination, co-use should be avoided, and the product should be used exclusively for eye drops.
