Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Rarely, shock symptoms such as nausea, cold limbs, and difficulty breathing may occur, so if these symptoms arise, the use should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. Hypersensitivity may cause symptoms such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, airway obstruction, rash, urticaria, itching, periorbital edema, so if these symptoms appear, medication administration should be stopped immediately. Temporary burning sensation, irritation, discomfort, pain, redness, itching, photophobia, blurred vision, tearing, and dryness may occur. Rarely, severe keratitis or serious skin disorders like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, and if these symptoms arise, usage should be discontinued. Hearing impairment or irritation symptoms have been reported occasionally. Long-term use of this medication may lead to the development of resistant bacteria or increased fungal infections, so it should only be used for the minimum necessary duration, and if superinfection is suspected, alternative treatments should be considered. Effectiveness against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has not been established, so if MRSA infection is confirmed and symptoms do not improve, it should be replaced with other potent antibiotics. Particularly in elderly patients or those with high tendon stress, or when used with steroids, the risk of tendon inflammation or rupture may increase, so if pain or inflammation occurs, the use must be stopped immediately. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this medication if the therapeutic benefit is deemed greater than the risks, and if breastfeeding, they should either stop breastfeeding or discontinue the use of the medication. Safety and effectiveness in infants under 1 year of age have not been established, so it is best to avoid use. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and care should be taken not to let the tip of the container touch the eye during administration. To prevent contamination from shared use, it is advisable not to use this medication with others. Store this medication out of reach of children, in a cool place, and away from direct sunlight.
