Improvement of knee osteoarthritis and periarthritis of the shoulder
This medication is used to relieve pain and inflammation from joint diseases such as knee osteoarthritis and periarthritis of the shoulder. It helps improve joint movement and reduce discomfort in daily activities. By reducing inflammation around the joint, it alleviates symptoms and aids in the recovery of joint function. Therefore, this medication is effective for the treatment of inflammatory diseases in the knee and shoulder joints.
Typically, one syringe is administered once a week for three consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint (shoulder joint cavity, subacromial bursa, or biceps tendon sheath), but the dosage may be adjusted based on symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients who have previously experienced allergic reactions to its ingredients. Caution should be exercised when administering to patients with allergies to other medications, liver function issues, or skin diseases or infections at the injection site. Severe allergic reactions, such as shock, may occur during administration, so the patient's condition must be closely monitored, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, administration should be immediately stopped and appropriate treatment sought. Hypersensitivity reactions such as swelling around the face or eyes, rashes, or itching may occur, so if such symptoms develop, administration should be halted and medical personnel informed. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, and warmth may appear at the joint injection site, and this should be taken into consideration. Nausea, vomiting, and fever may also occur rarely, so patients should consult medical personnel if these symptoms develop. Before administering to joints with severe inflammation, it is advisable to first reduce the inflammation, and after administration, measures to stabilize the affected area are necessary. This medication must be precisely administered within the joint, and caution is needed as extravasation can cause pain. Aseptic technique must be maintained during administration, and if symptoms do not improve, administration should be stopped after a maximum of three doses. If pus or fluid is present in the joint, it is advisable to drain it before injection. Intravenous administration is prohibited, and it is not suitable for use in the eyes. It is recommended to use a 22-23 gauge needle. This medication may form precipitates when mixed with certain antiseptics, so care must be taken. The safety of this medication has not been established in pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, so it should be used cautiously only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Additionally, this drug can be transmitted through breast milk, so breastfeeding should be avoided during administration. The safety of this medication in children has not been fully confirmed, so it should be used cautiously only when necessary. For the elderly, caution should be exercised as physical functions may be decreased.
