Precautions

This medication should not be used by children or women. Particularly, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle broken pieces of this medication, as its components can be absorbed through the skin and pose risks to a male fetus. During the use of this medication, mood changes such as feelings of sadness or depression, or thoughts of suicide may occur, so it is crucial to consult a healthcare professional immediately if these symptoms appear. Pregnant women should not take this medication, as it may affect the development of the male fetus's reproductive organs. Additionally, patients with allergies to this medication or genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should not use it. Patients with impaired liver function should exercise caution when using this medication, as it undergoes significant metabolism in the liver, making it susceptible to effects based on liver health status. This medication may cause side effects related to sexual function such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and ejaculation disorders; if these side effects are severe, discontinuation of the medication is advised. Most side effects improve after stopping the medication. Long-term use has been reported to result in breast tenderness or enlargement and testicular pain in some patients, though these occurrences are rare. Some studies have observed an increased risk of certain high-grade prostate cancers with this medication, but a clear causal relationship has not been established. Animal studies during pregnancy have shown this medication can cause genital abnormalities in male fetuses, so pregnant women must not take it or handle broken pieces of it. It is unknown whether this medication is excreted in breast milk; therefore, nursing mothers should also refrain from using it. Safety and efficacy in children have not been established, so use is not recommended. The effects of this medication in seniors aged 65 and older have not been fully demonstrated; however, no dosage adjustment is required. While taking this medication, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels may decrease, so this should be considered when interpreting PSA test results. There is no specific treatment for overdose, and generally reported side effects are not severe. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided, as it could compromise the quality or lead to accidents. There are no known clinically significant interactions between this medication and others, so it is generally believed that taking it with other medications does not cause major issues.
