Depending on symptoms, it can be increased to 20 mg orally once daily, usually for up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers, and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. Erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. Precautions

This medication should not be administered to those with allergies or a history of hypersensitivity to certain components. Caution is necessary when used in conjunction with antibiotics from the penicillin or macrolide families if hypersensitive. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication, nor should patients taking atazanavir or rilpivirine. Patients with impaired liver function or elderly individuals should use this medication cautiously; those with a history of drug hypersensitivity should also exercise caution. This medication may cause hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, hives, or itching, and administration should be discontinued immediately if symptoms occur. There may be changes in blood cell counts, liver function abnormalities, and cardiovascular symptoms that require regular testing and observation. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting; notify a physician if abnormal symptoms arise. Neuropsychiatric symptoms may include headaches, insomnia, and dizziness; if severe, consult a doctor. Various adverse reactions have been reported related to the respiratory system, skin, and musculoskeletal system, and careful observation is necessary if symptoms arise. Long-term use of this medication may increase the risk of vitamin B12 absorption disorders or osteoporosis-related fractures, necessitating regular testing. Particularly, long-term use (over 3 months) may lead to hypomagnesemia, so periodic monitoring of magnesium levels is essential. This medication strongly suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of bacterial infections in the stomach. Caution is required as drowsiness may occur while driving or operating machinery. There may be interactions with other medications, so it is crucial to inform healthcare providers about any other drugs being taken, particularly antiviral agents, antibiotics, and anticoagulants. This medication should be swallowed whole without chewing or crushing, and must be stored out of reach of children. If any abnormal symptoms occur during use, consult medical staff immediately for appropriate actions.
