Precautions

This medication contains lactose and should not be administered to patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. While taking this medication, adverse reactions such as diarrhea, loose stools, dry mouth, and fatigue may occur. There may also be liver function issues, so if symptoms of hepatitis or jaundice appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, urticaria, and swelling may occur, so caution is advised. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal distention, nausea, vomiting, and taste disturbances have been reported, and sometimes neurological symptoms like dizziness or headaches may also occur. If symptoms do not improve after more than 2 weeks of taking this medication, long-term use is discouraged. When taken together with anticholinergics, the effectiveness of this medication may decrease, so caution should be exercised regarding dosing intervals. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits of treatment are judged to outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding women should preferably avoid use or discontinue nursing. Safety in children has not been established, so use is not recommended for pediatric populations. The elderly should monitor their renal and hepatic function closely, as it may decline, and dosages should be adjusted if necessary. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may adversely affect quality, so caution is warranted. Lastly, in animal studies, prolonged high-dose administration resulted in an increased rate of tumor occurrence in the liver and thyroid, so long-term high-dose use should be avoided.
