Precautions

This medication may cause adverse reactions such as diarrhea or loose stools, dry mouth, and lethargy in about 4% of patients taking it. Changes in liver enzyme levels may be observed in some patients during liver function tests, so regular testing is necessary. Serious adverse reactions such as acute hepatitis, liver dysfunction, and jaundice may rarely occur, so if these symptoms appear, immediately discontinue use and visit a hospital. Various side effects such as rash, hives, blood abnormalities, gastrointestinal symptoms, dizziness, and palpitations have been reported, so consult medical personnel if these symptoms occur. It is generally advised not to use this medication for an extended period if symptoms do not improve after taking it for more than 2 weeks. If taken with other medications, especially anticholinergics, the effectiveness of this medication may decrease, so it is important to adjust the timing or exercise caution. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, the safety of this medication has not been fully established, so it should be used cautiously after consultation with a physician. If breastfeeding, this medication may be transmitted through breast milk, so it is recommended to avoid use or discontinue breastfeeding if possible. Safety in children has not been confirmed, so it is advisable not to use this medication in pediatric patients. In elderly patients, renal and hepatic function may decline, so their condition should be carefully monitored, and the dosage adjusted as necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to another container for safety. Animal studies have reported a risk of tumor development with prolonged high-dose use, so it is important to follow expert guidance when using it long-term.
