Adult dose
The adult dosage is 1 tablet containing 50 mg of Losartan Potassium and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide once daily. If blood pressure is not controlled, the dose may be increased up to a maximum of 1 tablet containing 100 mg of Losartan Potassium and 25 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide once daily. For patients with renal impairment, the usual dose should be given for those with a creatinine clearance of 30 mL/min or more, and use in more severe cases of renal impairment is not recommended. For patients with liver impairment, dosage adjustments are required.
Child dose
There is no experience with the use in children and adolescents, so the Losartan-Hydrochlorothiazide combination should not be administered to this age group.

This drug is used to effectively lower blood pressure and assist in blood pressure management in patients with hypertension who find it difficult to control blood pressure with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The adult dosage is 1 tablet containing 50 mg of Losartan Potassium and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide once daily. If blood pressure is not controlled, the dose may be increased up to a maximum of 1 tablet containing 100 mg of Losartan Potassium and 25 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide once daily. For patients with renal impairment, the usual dose should be given for those with a creatinine clearance of 30 mL/min or more, and use in more severe cases of renal impairment is not recommended. For patients with liver impairment, dosage adjustments are required.

Child dose

There is no experience with the use in children and adolescents, so the Losartan-Hydrochlorothiazide combination should not be administered to this age group.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This drug should not be administered to patients with certain allergic reactions or severely impaired kidney function, liver disease patients, or women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Patients with very low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalances, weak kidney or liver function, hyperuricemia, or gout should use this drug with caution and require regular check-ups as directed by a physician. Various side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, cough, rash, etc. may occur during the use of this drug. If unusual symptoms occur, medical consultation should be sought immediately. Particularly, this drug can change potassium levels, so potassium supplements or potassium-rich foods should not be taken without consulting a physician. This drug may interact with other antihypertensives, diuretics, specific antibiotics, anticoagulants, etc., so if other medications are being taken, this must be disclosed. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels should be carried out during use to check for abnormalities, and special attention is required for the elderly or patients with weak kidney function. Caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery due to the potential for dizziness or drowsiness, especially during the initial stages of treatment or when changing dosages. This drug may react sensitively to ultraviolet light; therefore, sun exposure should be limited and any skin abnormalities should be reported to medical personnel immediately. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children and adolescents, so it is not administered to them.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, chest tightness, angioedema (swelling of the larynx/pharynx that may cause airway obstruction, swelling of the face/lips/pharynx/tongue), severe allergic reactions, severe skin reactions (rash, skin peeling, mucous membrane syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, necrotizing vasculitis), respiratory problems (acute respiratory distress syndrome, ARDS, pulmonary edema), liver abnormalities (jaundice, hepatitis, intrahepatic cholestasis)
