This medication is effective for various joint diseases such as chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps alleviate post-traumatic or post-surgical painful swelling and inflammation. Additionally, it is used as an adjunct treatment for infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. Overall, it is used to improve inflammation and pain related to the joints.

How to take

Adult dose

As Dexibuprofen, take 300 mg orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg as Dexibuprofen in one day.

Precautions

Patients who regularly consume more than 3 drinks of alcohol per day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. There is a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when an individual with a heavy alcohol consumption takes this medication. This medication can affect the cardiovascular system, so special caution is advised for individuals at risk of heart disease or stroke. Those with pre-existing cardiovascular conditions or risk factors should consult a physician and monitor their condition closely while taking this medication. As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, this medication can cause serious gastrointestinal problems such as bleeding, ulcers, and perforation, so individuals with a history of gastrointestinal diseases should be cautious. Particularly, the elderly are at a higher risk for these gastrointestinal issues and should take care. Individuals with gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, severe liver or kidney disorders, severe heart failure, severe hypertension, or a history of asthma should not take this medication. Taking this medication in conjunction with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may increase the risk of side effects, so co-administration is not recommended. It is advised to discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking the medication during treatment. Additionally, dizziness or fatigue may occur during treatment; caution should be taken when driving or operating machinery. Patients with hematological disorders, liver or kidney dysfunction, hypertension, a history of allergies, the elderly, and pregnant women should consult healthcare providers before taking this medication. If symptoms such as rash, difficulty breathing, abdominal pain, vomiting, skin abnormalities, severe headache, etc., occur during treatment, the medication should be stopped immediately and a doctor consulted. This medication is best taken in the minimum effective dosage for the shortest time necessary, and regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are required during prolonged use. Drug interactions

Do not use this medication in conjunction with aspirin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high doses (15 mg/week or more) of methotrexate. Additionally, avoid co-administration with corticosteroids, alcohol, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants (such as warfarin), baclofen, and immunosuppressants (such as cyclosporine and tacrolimus).
