Precautions

This medication should be used cautiously in patients with edema or ascites due to liver cirrhosis, as there is a risk of sudden changes in fluid and electrolyte balance that can lead to a serious brain function disorder called hepatic encephalopathy. This medication should not be used in certain patients, including those under 12 years of age, those with hypotension, patients with acute kidney failure who do not produce urine, patients with severe liver dysfunction, and pregnant or nursing women. In addition, caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with a history of gout or diabetes, elderly patients with impaired kidney function, and those with cardiovascular diseases, and regular monitoring of blood and electrolyte status is required. It is important to consume a diet rich in potassium while taking this medication, and patients may experience dizziness or fatigue, which requires caution when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, severe diuretic effects may lead to significant loss of body fluids and electrolytes, and medical attention should be sought immediately for appropriate treatment. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents, certain antibiotics, and diuretics, so patients must inform their healthcare providers of any other medications they are taking. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this medication as it may affect the fetus or newborn. Elderly patients are at increased risk of experiencing hypotension or electrolyte imbalances while taking this medication, so treatment should start with a low dosage and be closely monitored. Regular monitoring of potassium, sodium, blood sugar, and uric acid levels is necessary during prolonged use of this medication to ensure they remain within normal ranges. Store this medication in a safe place out of reach of children, and it is advisable not to transfer it to another container.
