This medication is effective for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, and is also used for symptom relief of gastroesophageal reflux disease and long-term maintenance therapy. It is used in combination with antibiotics for patients with digestive tract ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. In summary, it helps in the treatment and symptom improvement of various gastric and esophageal diseases.
Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer: Administer 10 mg orally once daily, and if necessary, can increase to 20 mg once daily depending on symptoms. Typically, treatment lasts up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to certain components or who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions. Caution is required in patients with allergies to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics, especially when used in combination during Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy. It is safer for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid this medication. Patients with compromised liver function or the elderly may experience more severe side effects, so use with caution is necessary. If allergic symptoms such as skin rash or itching occur during medication, discontinue immediately and consult a doctor. It is important to have regular blood tests or liver function tests to monitor for any abnormal signs. Various side effects may occur in multiple body systems, including the heart, digestive system, and nervous system, so any symptoms that arise should be reported immediately. Long-term use may increase the risk of fractures due to osteoporosis, and bone density tests should be considered if necessary. Hypomagnesemia may occur rarely, so magnesium levels in the blood should be periodically monitored when used long-term or with certain medications. This drug strongly inhibits gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of bacterial infections in the stomach; if symptoms like diarrhea persist, consult a doctor.
