This medication is used to relieve and treat symptoms of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, as well as erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective for long-term maintenance therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease. In patients with peptic ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori, it enhances therapeutic effects when used in combination with antibiotics. It also helps manage symptoms in patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Thus, it is effectively used for various gastrointestinal-related diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers: Typically, take 10 mg orally once a day. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg may be taken orally once a day. Treatment duration is up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. Erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Take 10 mg or 20 mg orally once a day for 4 to 8 weeks. Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to certain ingredients or benzimidazole derivatives. Patients allergic to antibiotics used for Helicobacter pylori eradication, such as amoxicillin or clarithromycin, should also avoid this medication. This drug is contraindicated for patients taking certain heart-related medications, atazanavir, and rilpivirine, as well as for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
