Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimester, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to this medication or its components, those with severely impaired kidney function, and patients with severe liver disorders should not take this medication as it may pose risks. Patients with low blood pressure or problems with kidneys, liver diseases, or electrolyte imbalances should use this medication with caution and follow a doctor's instructions carefully. This medication lowers blood pressure, so patients may experience dizziness or drowsiness when first taking it; therefore, caution is advised while driving or operating machinery. During treatment, potassium and sodium levels in blood should be periodically checked to manage any potential electrolyte imbalances. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics, so caution should be taken to avoid concurrent use. Because it contains hydrochlorothiazide, it can make the skin sensitive to sunlight, so care should be taken to protect the skin from sun exposure, and any skin abnormalities should be discussed with a doctor. If sudden vision loss or eye pain occurs during use, the medication should be stopped immediately, and medical attention should be sought. Its safety has not been established in children and adolescents, and it is advisable not to use it for these groups. Elderly patients may exhibit more frequent adverse reactions, so careful monitoring is recommended during use. Exceeding the prescribed dosage or overdosing may lead to symptoms such as low blood pressure and increased heart rate, so doctor's instructions must be strictly followed. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept sealed in its original container.
