Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to specific ingredients. Caution is needed when used with certain antibiotics due to the potential for hypersensitivity reactions. It is safest for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid taking this medication. Patients with impaired liver function or the elderly may experience side effects, so administration should be done cautiously. While taking this medication, various side effects such as skin rash, itching, blood abnormalities, liver function abnormalities, heart issues, gastrointestinal symptoms, and neurological abnormalities may occur, and immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is required if symptoms appear. This medication reduces gastric acid secretion, so long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures and can cause hypomagnesemia, requiring regular monitoring. Additionally, there may be a slight increase in the risk of gastrointestinal bacterial infections, so if diarrhea persists, consultation with a physician is recommended. Caution is also necessary when driving or operating machinery, as drowsiness may occur. Due to potential interactions with other medications, any currently taken medications should be disclosed to a healthcare professional, especially when used in conjunction with antibiotics or antiviral medications. This medication should not be chewed or crushed; it should be swallowed whole and stored out of reach of children. In case of overdose, there are no specific antidotes, and appropriate treatment should be given based on the symptoms. For long-term use, regular blood tests and liver function tests are important to check for abnormalities.
