How to take
Adult dose
1. Threatened miscarriage: Administer an initial dose of 40mg didrogesterone orally and then 10mg every 8 hours. If symptoms are persistent or recurrent, dose may be increased by 10mg every 8 hours. After symptoms resolve, continue dosing for 1 week before tapering down. If symptoms recur, re-administer immediately. 2. Habitual abortion: Begin treatment as soon as possible before pregnancy. Precautions
This medication should not be taken if there is functional uterine bleeding; the cause of bleeding must be confirmed before use. Initial treatment may cause breakthrough bleeding or spotting, which should be carefully monitored, and if symptoms persist, the cause should be investigated. A biopsy may be necessary to rule out endometrial cancer if needed. When using this medication alongside estrogen for hormone replacement therapy, the risks and benefits of treatment should be regularly evaluated, with annual examinations recommended. It is also essential to discuss breast or uterine health with a physician and undergo regular check-ups while using this medication. This medication may increase the risk of endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial cancer; therefore, when combined with estrogen therapy, progestogen must be included. The risk of breast cancer may also increase, so any changes in the breast should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately. There may be an increased risk of thrombosis, so it is advisable not to use this medication in individuals with a history of thrombosis or risk factors for thrombosis. Particularly, it may be necessary to temporarily discontinue use before and after surgery or during prolonged periods of immobility. Patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or stroke should be cautious when using this medication, as it may increase the risk of heart disease. This medication should not be administered to children under 18 years old, patients with severe liver disease, those with specific genetic disorders, or patients with estrogen-dependent tumors. While using this medication, side effects such as headaches, nausea, menstrual irregularities, breast pain, edema, and weight gain may occur. If severe allergic reactions or liver function abnormalities arise, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Regular medical evaluations are essential for those on long-term use, and patients with a history of depression should be closely monitored for mental state changes. Be cautious when driving or operating machinery, as drowsiness or dizziness may occur. If using other medications that alter the metabolism of this drug in the liver, efficacy may decrease; discuss all medications with your physician or pharmacist. In early pregnancy, this drug may affect the fetus, so its use during pregnancy must be strictly under a physician's guidance. A small amount may be transmitted through breast milk, but no significant adverse reactions have been reported. Overdose may lead to nausea, vomiting, and dizziness; since there is no specific antidote, treatment should be symptomatic as needed. Store this medication out of reach of children, and keep it in the original container, as transferring it to another container may risk misuse or quality degradation.
